Cedarcrest Boys Basketball to STATE!!

In the little town of Duvall,WA. are eleven boys from Cedarcrest High School on the Boys Basketball Varsity team who have overcome some huge odds recently..they, for the first time in 56 years are going to State! I have had the privilege to photograph them along this journey.
Friday night the boys played in Mt. Vernon,WA at the location for the district games in Game three, where the outcome would be one of two things...
1) Win and go on to State! or  2) Loser out.
The intensity in the gym was surreal, the energy amongst the fans and the players of both teams increasing minute by minute as this was a "neck in neck" game! The final seconds of the game our boys have possession of the ball at the free throw line and this is it...do or die as they say. I stood down at baseline trying to focus the camera on Zach Taylor our sophomore phenom player as he lines up for the shots. Tears are steaming down my cheeks- as I have been here before, watching our teams from years past who gave it their heart but didn't get to fulfill their dreams of going to state. At this point I really can't see and I know Mr. Security guy is behind me watching me as I had been previously warned to "either be a cheerleader and go sit in the stands, or be a photographer and take photos"..(ouch that really stung!!).. The ball goes in.. and just like that the buzzer goes off and Cedarcrest Wins! At this point my human nature, and well my Basketball Mom personality took over and I jumped for joy crying like us Mom's do watching these boys I have grown to love, celebrate, what at this very moment was the BEST moment of their lives!

Portrait Collection

So in the past year I have tried to learn more about photography. I have excelled in sports photography, as I'm actively immersed in the world of Elite and High school basketball. I have also been trying to learn more about the techniques of photography and am currently studying a course. I have discovered that I love taking candid style B&W portraits, as well as the "posed", yet impromptu style..lol! I am slowly building up my collection of equipment and studio lighting and chroma key equipment and software is next on my list.

I was an an avid paper crafter for many years..but the photography bug "bit" me and it's been a wild journey since! It is a major part of my life and I am working towards having my own business. I am grateful to my family for tolerating the constant request to be my photo subjects which is difficult when its it's five males in your household! I am also very grateful for the community I live in, filled with wonderful kids with whom I photograph on a regular basis from High School events to personal events. It is in part because of you that I have become the photographer I am today. I look forward to continuing to follow you, camera in hand, as you progress through high school and beyond if I am so lucky! Thank You..truly!
Jamie

Portraits Family and Friends

A collection of photos throughout the year. I am always the eager photography student in quest of learning all I can about photography, as well as on the quest for the "perfect" photo.

Quinn kidd

These are photos of my little friend Quinn. She is so adorable and very photogenic as you can see. I told her Mom Tracie that she really should get this girl modeling, and so she recently took her to an agency. Quinn and I went outside during a break between basketball games that my son and her brother were playing, and took some photos.Lil' Miss Quinn was all over it! She is a "natural"! I never had to ask her to pose or anything she just did her thing..lol! This is a sample of the many pics we took. While we were taking pics someone passed by and asked if she were my daughter and I said "I wish"! Quinn promptly replied that if I wanted she could be my niece! I glady accepted! She is priceless!
